City Of Brea May Charge Protesters

Protesters in Orange County may be handed a bill at the end of their demonstrations.  The city is considering charging protesters for the extra security costs and making them file for a permit before they assemble.

On Tuesday dozens of protesters showed up at the Brea City Council in force hoping to get the proposal shot down.  Business owners and people who live in the city say they afraid of violence every time a protest erupts.  The ACLU says it plans to fight the proposed ordinance, saying it restricts free speech.
