A Los Angeles Police Department officer was hit on the 405 Freeway by a suspected drunk driver, losing his leg as a result.
The incident happened as the officer was conducting a normal traffic stop.
The driver of an Infinity Q35, Douglas Donovan, rear ended the officer's patrol car sending it into him and severing his leg.
A GoFundMe page identifies the officer as Officer Chelico, and the money will go to help him and his family during the recovery process.
