Four former Beaumont city leaders are admitting they embezzled millions of dollars from the city.  The defendants pleaded guilty today in a Riverside courtroom for siphoning 43-million-dollars in tax money into their private companies.

Beaumont's former city manager, economic development director, city planner and finance director drew harsh criticism from Mayor Pro Tem Nancy Carroll.  She told them that the scheme nearly brought "Beaumont to its knees."  The four were among seven former office holders who were arrested in 2016 and they admitted the wrongdoing as part of their plea agreement.
