Four Chargers Selected For Pro Bowl

COSTA MESA (CNS) - Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa was selected to start in the Pro Bowl, while quarterback Philip Rivers, receiver Keenan Allen and cornerback Casey Hayward were chosen as reserves, the NFL announced today.

The Chargers four selections for the NFL's all-star game are their most since 2012 and are tied for second-most in the AFC behind Pittsburgh's eight.

Rivers was selected to play in the Pro Bowl for the seventh time, Hayward for the second and Bosa and Allen both for the first time.

Chargers defensive end Melvin Ingram, running back Melvin Gordon, offensive tackle Russell Okung and defensive tackle Corey Liuget were chosen as alternates.

The Pro Bowl selections are determined by a combination of voting by fans, players and coaches.

The Pro Bowl will be played Jan. 28 in Orlando, Florida.
