A little boy in Mississippi is breathing a sigh of relief after he helped cops nab the most notorious Christmas villain of them all - The Grinch!
TyLon Pittman was watching a series of videos about the creature with a heart two sizes too small when he decided to call the cops and make sure they knew about this holiday highwayman.
“I just want to tell you something. Watch for that little Grinch. Because the Grinch is gonna steal Christmas, okay?” TyLon said on the 911 call.
The officer who took TyLon's call wanted to make sure the 5-year-old knew his stuff was safe from the reclusive Christmas hater. Officer Lauren Develle showed up at TyLon's house shortly after to reassure him in person that cops would not let the Grinch steal any of his - or anyone's - presents this year.
That's not all - the Byram Police Department wanted to do something special for the boy who was so worried that his friends might get their holidays stolen. Byram Police Chief Luke Thompson invited TyLon for a tour of the station, where the 5-year-old was given a chance to 'arrest' the Grinch in person.
When the boy arrived, officers surprised TyLon with the Grinch already in the back of a police car. They led the crooked Christmas thief to a holding room for questioning where it took some time for TyLon to decide to let him out. According to TyLon's mother, TeResa Brown Pittman, the Grinch told the 5-year-old he was sorry and that he would stop stealing people's Christmas presents.
TyLon's older sister posted video of the police coming to her door on Facebook after her little brother reported the Grinch to 911.
I can NOT make this up!!! My 5 year old brother called the police and said that the Grinch is stealing people Christmas and he don’t want him to steal his so they really came to our house!
