The family of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee is asking that medical details of his passing be kept private.  Zuckerberg SF General Hospital CEO Dr. Susan Ehrlich confirms the mayor arrived just after 10:00 last night in critical condition.  She says after hours of living-saving measures, Lee died at 1:11 this morning.  The coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.  Flags at City Hall will remain at half-staff for the next 30 days.  At noon today, public transit agencies in SF, Oakland and San Jose stopped service for a moment of silence in Lee's memory.

Board of Supervisors President London Breed is now Acting Mayor.  Breed says Mayor Lee was a kind, dedicated man who pushed for affordable housing and more jobs.  Both Lee and Breed grew up in public housing projects and saw eye-to-eye on the need to create more homes for low-income families.  Lee, SF's first Asian-American mayor, was 65.
