December 13th is the day that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson receives his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has chosen to honor Johnson a week before his latest film Jumanji debuts at the box office. He is being recognized in the motion pictures category and for his ability to break global records with his film roles.
“Not only does Dwayne have a great personality and talent, but he also does a great amount of philanthropic work which is part of the criteria for earning an immortal spot on the Walk of Fame,” producer of Walk of Fame ceremonies Ana Martinez said. “We envision scores of photos being taken at his star by his fans.”
Martinez is referring to Johnson's charity he founded in 2006 called The Rock Foundation. The group works with terminally ill children and also has a mission to educate, empower, and motivate children worldwide through health and fitness. Johnson currently has eighteen projects in different stages of development and production.
The ceremony starts at 11:30am PST at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Hollywood and Highland.
