LAPD Cadets Running the Streets in Patrol Cars

New details are coming out about the scandal involving cadets for the Los Angeles Police Department. Newly released documents show that cadets were using patrol cars to run errands and do donuts behind big box stores over the last few months.  The "L.A. Times" is reporting that the cadets went unnoticed because they simply look like young sworn officers.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck says there are flaws in how the cadet program is being run and has ordered an investigation.  The now public documents are part of the investigation into a former cop accused of having sex with a 15-year old cadet.
