San Joaquin Inmate Walks Away From Work Crew

An inmate who walked away from a work crew on Monday in central California is going to have a hard time blending in thanks to a homemade skull tattooed on his face.

Authorities say 27-year-old Corey Hughes went missing from his work crew near Interstate 5 in Stockton on Monday afternoon. Hughes has been serving time on a weapons charge and was due to be released in February.

The inmate was being housed in an 'Honor Farm' - a program the San Joaquin Sheriff department provides that organizes activities and opportunities, such as GED classes for inmates.

Authorities are asking the public that if they see Hughes not to approach him and to contact their dispatch at 209-468-4400.
