LOS ANGELES (AP) — Southern California commuters contended with slick roads as a cold front brought light rain following a long holiday weekend of record heat.
The National Weather Service says fall-like temperatures in the 60s and low 70s are expected Monday across greater Los Angeles, along with heavy clouds, gusty winds and some showers.
Forecasters say the Antelope Valley north of Los Angeles could see frost early Tuesday.
It's a dramatic swing from last Thursday, when downtown LA marked 91 degrees — the warmest for a Thanksgiving Day since the weather service began keeping records in 1877.
To the north, storms that tapered off early Monday in the San Francisco Bay Area dumped more than an inch of rain in some areas.
Wind gusts topping 90 mph were clocked at Squaw Valley near Lake Tahoe.
