More Legionnaires Cases as Disneyland Outbreak Grows

Orange County health officials have confirmed the number of people who spent time in Anaheim or Disneyland and diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease has increased to 15.

Officials say the victims came down with the infection between late August and early October and two have died, though neither went to Disneyland.

Legionnaires’ disease is a severe lung infection caused by bacteria that grows in water and can spread when droplets hit the air and are breathed in.

It was only last week that Disneyland shut down two cooling towers that had high levels of Legionella bacteria.
