Northern California police are looking for a man described as a "violent psychopath" who boarded a plane after escaping from a hospital in Honolulu last Sunday. Maui police say 59-year-old Randall Toshio Saito escaped from Oahu's Hawaii State Hospital. He then caught a flight to Maui.
A Honolulu television station says Saito then managed to hop a flight to San Jose. Where he is right now is unknown, although he does have family in California. It's not clear how Saito escaped. Saito was committed in 1981 after shooting and stabbing a woman numerous times in Honolulu.
