Thanksgiving Has Come Early to LAX

The Bob Hope USO has already rolled out the Thanksgiving spread for troops coming through LAX. The dinner was a surprise for a bunch of Marines who were coming up from Camp Pendleton.

"They think they're just coming to the USO to ship out," Executive Director Bob Kurkjian told KFI's Kris Ankarlo. "A lot of these troops coming out today are shipping out overseas and to new battalions and new destinations."

For their part, the Marines seemed pretty happy with the spread and the surprise guests. "I didn't really expect this, especially all the cheerleaders and the players here," one man told Kris.

Players from the Chargers and Kings as well as cheerleaders from both teams were out there to help serve the troops the Thanksgiving meal. Workers from Activision also took the day off to help serve up meals. The food was prepared by some of the nearby hotels around LAX.
