Man taped porn magazines to himself as "armor" for knife fight

An Oklahoma man who had porn magazines strapped to his body for protection told police that he was in "survival mode" after he was arrested for trying to stab his neighbor.

Neighbors of 49-year-old Donald Gene Gathier said that tension had been brewing between him and the alleged victim, Troy Bagely, for weeks.

Gathier told authorities he believed that Bagley had gotten him kicked out of the mobile home park where he was living. Because of that, Gathier challenged Bagley to a knife fight.

He showed up to Bagley's home with a knife in each hand and started shouting for him to come out yelling, "Come out and get some."

Bagley called the police and they came and arrested Gathier.

Gathier had a knife in each hand, two knives in his belt, a large weight attached to a lanyard, and porn magazines taped to his midsection as armor. He told the police that he had "been to prison and (knew) what to do to protect himself.”
