Chino Hills Man Arrested For Pouring Boiling Hot Water on Girlfriend's Dog

A 22-year-old Chino Hills man has been arrested after San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call who claimed they saw him pouring boiling water into a dog cage at least five times.

According to police, the 911 caller said the dog was crying out in pain, and that the witness had captured the incident on video.

Deputies say they discovered a tea kettle containing "scorching hot water," and the dog's coat and skin were warm from the water. Deputies summoned the Inland Valley Humane Society to the scene where they measured the water in the kettle at 129 degrees using a temperature gauge.

Enping Qu, was arrested on one count of felony animal cruelty. No motive for Qu's behavior was released.

The San Bernardino Sheriff's department said it would not release video of the crime while it was still an ongoing criminal investigation.
