Martha Raddatz's “The Long Road Home: A Story of War and Family,” has been turned into an eight-part TV series for the National Geographic Channel.
The TV series follows the story of a day of fighting in the Middle East, a day that would be then remembered as Black Sunday.
On that day, eight American troops died and 65 more were injured in Sadr City, Baghdad.
The show will feature flashes between combat and the emotions the soldiers families are dealing with back at home.
The series will star Michael Kelly, Jason Ritter, Kate Bosworth, Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeremy Sisto, and Noel Fisher and will premiere November 7th on National Geographic Channel.
Martha spoke to Wake Up Call this morning about the series and about Jennifer's personal connection to the story.
