Vin Scully: 'I Will Never Watch Another NFL Game'

The only thing I can do in my own little way is not to preach; I will never watch another NFL game."

The Dodgers aren't the only losers this week in the sports world.

The National Football League has lost one of its most prominent viewers:  Hall of Fame broadcaster and legend Vin Scully.

Scully made the declaration during an event at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday night, saying that it was NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem which drove his decision.

During the fall and winter, I watch the NFL on Sunday, and it's not that I'm some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year, didn't go anywhere, didn't do anything, but I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing that I can do in my little way is to not to preach; I will never watch another NFL game."

The announcement comes at a time when the NFL is already facing extreme pressure due to low ratings over the past two seasons, this due in part to players protesting during the National Anthem.
