Dozens of people in San Diego are more prepared to deal with an active shooter. The MMA Academy in Sorrento Valley is teaching people how to defend themselves during an active shooter situation. Instructors taught dozens of people Sunday how to disarm a shooter in close quarters, on the same day a shooter killed at least 26 people inside a Texas church.
The instructors say the training is needed now more than ever, and say people need defensive tools so they don't live in fear. The mixed martial arts school holds the active shooter training twice a year.
