Death Toll Rises In California Hep A Outbreak

(San Diego, CA)  --  More people are dying due to the hepatitis A outbreak in San Diego.  The death toll is now at 20 and there have been over 530 confirmed cases in the county over the last year.  Health officials say there are still several dozen cases pending confirmation.  

The latest person to die was a 67-year-old man.  He died less than a week ago and officials say of the others who died, ten were homeless, one used illicit drugs and three were both homeless and drug users.
