A woman jogging in Van Nuys fought off a man who grabbed her from behind and tried to sexually assault her.
The LAPD said Friday the woman managed to get out of the man's grip two times during the fight, then followed the man on foot in order to get a complete description.
"She was attacked from behind, sexually battered, and from there she fought off the attacker," said LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera.
It happened as the woman was jogging south along Fulton Avenue near Hatteras St. around 6:00 a.m. Thursday.
The man is Hispanic, about 5-feet, 5-inches tall, and he was wearing a blue hoodie and black sweatpants at the time of the attack.
Herrera said the attack appeared isolated, though detectives would look through recent incidents to see if there were any similar reports.
Anyone who recognized the attacker or who has not yet reported a similar assault should call Van Nuys Area detectives at (818) 374-0010.
