FULLERTON (CNS) - Fullerton police today released a photo of a man who was arrested on suspicion of child molestation, and they urged other possible victims to contact detectives.
Gabriel Andrade, 51, of Fullerton was arrested on Oct. 12 in Amarillo, Texas, on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a girl under the age of 14 in Fullerton the previous day, said Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus.
``After committing the crimes in Fullerton, Andrade changed his cell phone number and then fled the state of California,'' Radus said in a statement.
``Fullerton police detectives were able to locate him in the state of Texas, and with the assistance of the Texas Highway Patrol, Andrade was placed under arrest in Amarillo, Texas.''
On Tuesday of this week, Fullerton detectives flew to Amarillo and brought Andrade back to California, where he was booked into the Fullerton City Jail.
``Fullerton police detectives strongly believe there may be other children who have been victimized by Andrade in the past, and we ask anyone who may have had any inappropriate contact with Andrade to have the courage to come forward and speak with detectives,'' Radus said.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Sgt. John Ema at (714) 738-6580, or Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS .
