SAN DIMAS (CNS) - A San Dimas High School student was arrested on suspicion of making a threat against the school, authorities said today.

The teenage boy, whose name was withheld, was taken into custody Sunday night, said Sgt. Michael White of the Los Angeles County sheriff's San Dimas Station.

Details of the alleged threat were not made public.

Bonita Unified School District Superintendent Christina Goennier said school officials learned Sunday night that a threat ``was posted to a social media outlet by a San Dimas student.''

``The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was immediately contacted and began an investigation of the incident,'' Goennier said.

``The student was arrested and released after they determined there was no immediate threat. As Bonita USD continues to work with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, we are confident that this is an isolated incident and the students of San Dimas High School were safe at all times,'' according to Goennier.
