PALM SPRINGS (CNS) - Two people remained behind bars today accused of operating an illegal indoor marijuana grow at a Palm Springs residence.
Law enforcement officials served a search warrant at 11:30 a.m. Friday at a home in the 800 block of Summit Drive and confiscated about 550 marijuana plants and approximately $8,000, said Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Brad Farwell.
It was also discovered that the residence had been illegally bypassing the power meter, resulting in an estimated $45,000 worth of electricity having been stolen, he said.
Long Beach residents Hoa Lin, 35, and Li Juan Lei, 29, were arrested and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation and theft of utilities.
They remain jailed in lieu of $46,000 bail each.
