Two Arrested in Connection with Illegal Marijuana Grow

PALM SPRINGS (CNS) - Two people remained behind bars today accused of  operating an illegal indoor marijuana grow at a Palm Springs residence.

Law enforcement officials served a search warrant at 11:30 a.m. Friday  at a home in the 800 block of Summit Drive and confiscated about 550  marijuana plants and approximately $8,000, said Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt.  Brad Farwell.

It was also discovered that the residence had been illegally bypassing  the power meter, resulting in an estimated $45,000 worth of electricity  having been stolen, he said.

Long Beach residents Hoa Lin, 35, and Li Juan Lei, 29, were arrested  and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of  illegal marijuana cultivation and theft of utilities.

They remain jailed in lieu of $46,000 bail each.
