Bob Miller of LA Kings fame gets statue at Staples

Bob Miller, former longtime play-by-play analyst for the Los Angeles Kings is set to be honored by the city and Staples Center on January 13, 2018.

That day is being christened Bob Miller Appreciation Day, a holiday well-suited to help remember the man who has come to be known as the "Voice of the Kings."

Miller will join some of the most famous LA sports entities by getting his likeness enshrined in bronze.

Athletes who have had statues created for them and placed outside Staples Center include Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretsky, Oscar de la Hoya, and Chick Hearn.

Miller was in attendance at Los Angeles City Hall for the announcement of his honors.

The statue will officially be unveiled during the Kings/Ducks game on January 13th, 2018.  Visitors can also participate in a special “BOBblehead” giveaway presented by FOX Sports West.

Congratulations, Bob, from all of us here at KFI AM 640!!
