AZUSA (CNS) - A person was seriously injured today in an explosion in an Azusa residential neighborhood, police reported.
The blast was reported late this morning in the 1000 block of North Sunset Avenue, and some evacuations were ordered, including Longfellow Elementary School, the Azusa Police Department reported.
Longfellow students were taken to Mountain View Elementary School, police said.
The sheriff's department sent a bomb squad, emergency medical technicians and a hazardous-materials team to the scene.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the blast.
