Police in Hollywood, Florida have arrested one of the two men they believe are responsible for Ariel Gonzalez's rotting body being crammed into a closet of his feces-and-blood splattered apartment.
30-year-old Travis Watson was let out of prison 3 months ago, where he was serving a 13 years for burglary and grand theft charges. Jacob Mitchell is still on the loose. Police say Mitchell beat Gonzalez with a hangar and a broomstick, and then poured hot grease on his head.
Mitchell was mad at Gonzalez for having anal sex with Watson. The sex and violence happened on September 10th, as Hurricane Irma barreled toward Florida.
An arrest report says that Gonzalez hailed Mitchell and Watson on the street, whistling at them and saying, "My house, my house."
Once at the house Gonzalez and Mitchell performed oral sex on Watson. But when Watson and Gonzalez starting having anal sex, that's when Mitchell got angry and beat Gonzalez.
Watson claimed he tried to stop Mitchell, but he also admitted to punching Gonzalez in the face and asking him where he kept his money. Officers eventually found Gonzalez's decomposing body wrapped in a comforter, after a friend notified them that she hadn't seen him in several days.
She noticed a foul odor coming from his apartment.
Travis Watson was charged with robbery without a firearm, kidnapping in commission or facilitation of a felony, and failure to report a death to the medical examiner.
Jacob Mitchell, still on the run, is described as a white Hispanic cross-dresser with a medium build a "balding pate" he covers with a long blond wig.
A balding pate! You don't hear that too often.
