A 17-year-old Rohnert Park boy is accused of breaking into a house and threatening a 17-year-old girl with a hunting knife. Police say the girl called 911 and hid in a bathroom after hearing a prowler outside her house Wednesday night. Officers arrived within three-minutes and surrounded the house, just as the suspect kicked down the bathroom door, pulled out the knife, swiped the girl's phone and asked her if she had been talking to the police.
Officers moved in immediately and arrested the boy, who said he didn't know anyone was home and didn't intend to harm the girl. They say they found some items in the boy's backpack that had been stolen earlier in the day from cars parked at Sonoma State University.
