A Few Ways to Keep Your Brain Fit

Research into how we can keep our brains healthy as we age has gained popularity in recent years, so to help you keep you brain in tip top shape, here's a few tips to keep yours strong.

Get some sleep!

A study looking at healthy people aged 65 and up showed that daytime napping is associated with a lower risk of cognitive decline.

Scientists say we should be getting around eight hours of sleep a night for best brain function.


Be active!

New studies show that increased participation in social, mental and physical activities is linked to a slower decline in older adults. 

Try doing some mental puzzles, visit friends and family and some housework.

Do it early!

All of these are great tips, but only if you get in as soon as possible!

Some studies show that interventions in older adults have little to no effect, so getting in these mental stretches are better in your youth.
