USC Student Has Surgery After Charlottesville Rally

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  A student at USC is okay after being hit by a car during the deadly violence that erupted at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.  The incoming senior had to have surgery on his knee.  He was one of the 19 people injured when a reported white supremacist drove his car through a group of counter-protesters, killing a woman, this past weekend.

When the film major was brought to the hospital, he had a concussion and had no idea what landed him there.  The Iranian-American lives in Virginia and is very active in politics.  He says all his life, he has been called a terrorist because of his ethnicity but says he was hit by one with a car.
