Two suspects are being sought in the shooting death of a man at an ATM in Garden Grove.
Investigators say a man was ambushed late Sunday night while attempting to withdraw money at a Bank of America Branch in Garden Grove.
Witnesses told KNBC news that they heard gunshots and saw two men leaving the area in a silver or gray SUV. Police have not confirmed whether robbery was a motive in the attack. Footage from the bank's surveillance cameras are being looked at for more information. The victim died at the scene and has not been identified pending family notification.
But that wasn't the only violence at the ATM that night. Around 8 pm later that night, police say a woman was assaulted and robbed in front of the same bank. Police say the victim was walking to the ATM with money in her hand when she was assaulted. The suspect fled, but was later apprehended and identified as a local transient.
The woman's money was returned and she was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. Police don't believe the attack on her was related to the shooting at the bank earlier that day.
Anyone with any information on the shooting is being urged to contact the Garden Grove Police Department's Homicide Unit.
