The LAPD is investigating why a van slammed into people sitting outside a restaurant in LA's mid-Wilshire District. The driver crashed into a crowd of people seated in the outdoor eating area yesterday afternoon. Witnesses told KFI's Andrew Mollenbeck that the driver bolted.
"He ran, and then I guess a few moments later, he came walking back down the street with assistance."
Eight people were taken to the hospital, with one man in critical condition. Witnesses say the van blew through a red light before the crash occurred.
