(San Diego, CA) -- A San Diego teacher says immigration checkpoints are racist and is launching her own protest. The teacher and her two kids were on vacation recently when she was asked to stop at a checkpoint, but she refused to tell the border agents her immigration status.
She says after learning her Latino friends are often stopped and interrogated at checkpoints, the blond, light-skinned teacher decided it was time to take a stand. The teacher and her kids were detained for nearly two hours as agents investigated. She says the system needs to upset white people to be changed.
