Authorities say a woman who allegedly drove toward pedestrians at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga has been arrested following a shooting and wild car chase.
San Bernardino County sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said deputies were dispatched around 6:40am after reports of a shooting involving a campus officer at Chaffey College.
According to police, the shooting occurred when the campus officer made contact with the woman driving a Nissan sedan in a school parking lot. Nobody was hit or hurt by the gunfire, as the woman led the officer on a pursuit through Rancho Cucamonga and back to the same parking lot.
When it looked like the woman was heading toward school employees, the officer performed a PIT maneuver to stop her car. She was taken into custody shortly thereafter. Sheriff's officials are leading the investigation.
