An 18-year-old woman was arrested in Central California after livestreaming a deadly accident on Friday that left her 14-year-old sister dead and another teen badly injured.
Authorities say Objulia Sanchez was booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter after the crash on Friday near Los Bano that left her 14-year-old sister dead and another 14-year-old girl badly injured.
Relatives of Sanchez confirmed to KFSN-TV that the 18-year-old had been livestreaming on Instagram before, during and after the crash. The California Highway Patrol said that Sanchez was driving a Buick Century when it veered onto the right shoulder. Sanchez over-corrected which caused the vehicle to swerve across lanes, crash through a fence and overturn in a field.
The CHP is looking into the video as part of the investigation.
