SWAT officers made a grisly discovery early Monday morning after entering a Seal Beach apartment following an hours long standoff. Police and SWAT responded to an apartment building after a woman called for help around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday night.
According to Police Sgt. Michael Henderson the line went dead during the call. Shortly afterward, neighbors began calling, to report gunfire and screaming.
Authorities surrounded the building near 7th Street and Central Avenue and evacuated some residents at neighboring apartments and ordered others to stay inside. After several hours, SWAT officers entered the apartment where they discovered two people dead.
No identities have been released and investigators are expected to remain on the scene for several hours.
