Movie, TV and digital production actors are a big step closer to having a new contract. The national board of directors of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists overwhelmingly approved a new three-year pact with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television producers yesterday. The union says the agreement must still be ratified by SAG-AFTRA members during balloting that will end August 7th.
The contract calls for pay hikes of two-and-a-half-percent this year, three-percent next year and three-percent the year after that. The agreement also includes heftier residuals for actors in shows that are streamed online. SAG-AFTRA members will start voting Monday.
