The Long Beach Police Department asked for the public's help Wednesday in identifying two men seen on security video - attacking a woman on the street and stealing her cellphone.
It happened the night of May 10 on 9th Street near Linden Avenue.
The woman suffered serious injuries.
"This was absolutely a horrific attack," said Sgt. David Schillig.
"When I first viewed the video I had to watch it a second time to make sure that what I saw was, in fact, true," he said.
The men shown in the recording do not match descriptions in any other unsolved street robberies, and police delayed making the video public while a number of leads were investigated.
