A Colorado teenager fought off a bear after waking up to "crunching sounds" and HIS HEAD INSIDE THE BEAR'S MOUTH.
The nineteen-year-old staffer, only identified as Dylan, says he woke up at around 4 am to a bear trying to drag him out of his sleeping bag.
He then began to struggle and punch the black bear.
“I grabbed a hold of the bear by his ear and I found his eye and I was poking it. It just let go of me and I was able to get away.”
Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokeswoman Jennifer Churchill says the attack happened at Glacier View Ranch near the town of Ward, 48 miles northwest of Denver.
Black bears aren't normally so aggressive, but are likely to attack when they defend their young or if they found food.
Churchill says the attack was unprovoked so wild life officials are setting up bear traps and will continue to search for the bear.
By the way, in case you were wondering where the crunching noise came from, Dylan has a theory.
"The crunching noise, I guess, was the teeth scraping against the skull as it dug in."
