LAPD Chief Charlie Beck says crime in Los Angeles is leveling off.

According to Beck, overall crime in the city of Los Angeles has risen less than one percent through the first half of the year. That's a huge improvement over previous years which saw significant spikes in crime.

Murders and robberies have gone up a bit, according to Beck, but violent sexual assaults and assaults have remained the same.

The last time crime went down in Los Angeles was back in 2014.
