Former San Francisco Airport Screener Who Let Drugs Pass Sentenced

TSA Announces Funds For Explosive Detection System

A 29-year-old former security screener at San Francisco International Airport has been sentenced to one year in federal prison after she agreed to look the other way while passengers slipped cocaine into luggage. 

Working with her husband (who was a supervising transportation security officer), Jessica Scott admitted to agreeing with him to in July of 2013 to let a passenger carry-on a bag without investigating its contents. 

Joseph Scott, Jessica's husband, plead guilty last month for accepting a bribe as a public officials. He is scheduled to be sentenced in November. 

Charges against a third airport screener, Michael Castaneda, are still pending.
