Police say they've discovered a body along the Angeles Crest Highway in the Angeles National Forest that could be connected to the search for a motorcyclist who went missing in the same area a day before.
Gary Hackman was riding his motorcycle behind his friend in the Angeles National Forest when he disappeared on Tuesday.
Hackman's friend said he initially believed the two men who were riding together got separated and returned home. Hackman was eventually reported missing at around 6:30 pm according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
LASD rescue helicopters and a search and rescue team went looking for Hackman on Tuesday night, but were forced to suspend their search once the sun went down.
Sheriff's officials say that around 6am, a body was located along Angeles Crest Highway. California Highway Patrol officials said the death appeared to be the result of a traffic accident.
The coroner is currently working to identify the body.
