Man Guilty of Manslaughter in Fox Executive Murder Case

A man prosecutors say was involved in the beating death of a 20th Century Fox executive has been found guilty of voluntary manslaughter by a Los Angeles jury.

The jury did not see fit to convict John Creech of the more serious charges of first-and second degree murder.

At the trial, prosecutors say Creech beat Gavin Smith to death after he caught him and Creech's wife having an affair. The 44-year-old Creech stored Smith's car in a self-storage unit in Simi Valley and disposed of Smith's body in shallow grave just outside of Palmdale.

Hikers discovered the bones more than two years after the Fox Exec disappeared in 2012
