Police are investigating whether drugs or alcohol could be related after an SUV crashed into a motel swimming pool in San Pedro injuring eight people.
According to Los Angeles police, the driver was traveling westbound on 1st Street and turning left on Gaffey when he lost control of his Toyota SUV. Like an out-of-control Kool Aide Man, the truck burst through a brick wall landing in the Vagabond Inn's swimming pool. Eight people were injured in the accident including one person who was inside the vehicle.
Officials say there children between the age of six and ten were in the pool when the SUV crashed, but fortunately, they were not seriously hurt. They were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
