Wild Car Chase Ends With a Cigarette

A woman in a stolen car led officers on a wild chase through suburban Van Nuys before she crashed into a pole.  

The chase began around 2:15 am when officers attempted to stop the woman on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. During the chase, the suspect came to a sudden stop. When officer exited the vehicle, she put the car in reverse and crashed into a patrol car. 

The officer was taken to the hospital and later released. 

After hitting a pole in the area of Haskell Avenue and Vanowen Street, she moved outside her car and began smoking a cigarette, ignoring the officers's commands. 

The woman was taken into custody after being forced out of the vehicle by police.
