Researchers at Oregon Health and Science University say that regular use of weed keeps you thin, active and fit. They concluded that people who smoke the drug more than five times per month have a lower body mass index than people who do not.
Lead author, Isabelle C. Beulaygue, from the University of Miami said in a 2016 study:
“There is a popular belief that people who consume marijuana have the munchies, and so [THEY]are going to eat a lot and gain weight, and we found that it is not necessarily the case.”
Researchers suggests that people who use cannabis regularly may be able to easily break down blood sugar, which could help them prevent weight gain.
