Footage of the Philando Castile Killing is Released

Days after an officer was acquitted, police footage of the Philando Castile shooting has been released.

Millions saw the aftermath of the shooting when Castile's girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, live-streamed the event on Facebook.

This video comes from the dashboard camera on Officer Jeronimo Yanez's patrol car.

It was played for the jury during the criminal trial brought forth against Yanez.

It is the only video that provides a fuller picture of the moments leading up to the shooting.

Yanez pulls Castile over saying his brake light is broken and asks for the standard license and proof of insurance.

It was then Castile admitted to the officer he had a gun, Yanez tells him not to reach for it but is cut off again by the officer yelling at him to not touch the firearm.

Moments later, gun shots were fired and the rest is what has gone viral with Reynolds account.

It was said the jury couldn't see the full view of the front of the car, where Castile's hands were. 

Officer Yanez said that . Castile was reaching for his gun, and his lawyers made that a central point in his defense.
