Video from the moment the GOP shooter opened fire released

The New York Post has published dramatic video from the shooting in Alexandria, Virginia.  The footage shows some of the insanity as 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson opened fire on a GOP baseball practice session.

More two-dozen shots are fired in the footage, which was reportedly captured by a witness who was close to the shooting at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park.

At one point, the video shows a man lying in the middle of the field, which is presumed to be Rep. Steve Scalise, a Louisiana congressman injured during Hodgkinson's rampage through the park.

The witness can be heard asking if people know where the gunman is at, and if people were calling 911.

"Well that's one helluva way to start the f***ing morning..." the witness is heard to say once the gunfire stopped.

Hodgkinson was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Speaker Paul Ryan told the House delegation that Thursday's Congressional Baseball Game will proceed, despite Wednesday morning's shooting.  The game between Democrats and Republicans date back to 1909.
