Here's a story that's equal parts disgusting and incredibly fascinating. Doctors in Shanghai removed 28 pounds of feces from a man's bowels who was reportedly constipated since birth.
28 pounds of poop!
The unidentified 22-year-old had 30 inches of his swollen bowl removed. It's believed the patient had Hirschsprung's disease, which caused his bowels to swell because the nerves that are supposed to control his gut are missing.
The doctors who worked on him said he looked like he was 9 months pregnant because of the poop back up.
After removing his gut, doctors had to stitch it up at both ends to stop feces from falling out. Tests concluded that he had years worth of poo stuck inside of him. It took 3 hours to get the stuff out, but it looks like it was a success.
