A 10-year-old boy playing in a yard with friends was struck by an out-of-control car that then crashed into a Southern California home.
Colton police say the car's driver and the child were taken to the hospital after the crash Tuesday evening. According to the San Bernardino Sun, firefighters on scene said the boy had suffered what appeared to be multiple bone fractures.
Investigators will look at whether excessive speed may have led to the crash, or if there are other factors that caused the driver to lose control.
Colton city officials are examining the building the car crashed into, and will have to decide whether the home is habitable or if it will be red-tagged.
A neighboring home was also damaged.
