Fire at Hollywood Apartment Complex Under Control

Firefighters knocked down a potentially scary looking fire in the southeast area of Hollywood this morning. 

An apartment building under construction was heavily damaged this morning after a fire broke out. An adjacent apartment building, garage and a house were also damaged. 

Firefighters made their way out to the 400 block of North Heliotrop Drive just after 6 am this morning and extinguished the flames in just under 45 minutes. 

One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital in good condition. At least 10 adults and 10 children have been displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross was assisting them according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No injuries were reported. 

The apartment building under construction was was still in the wooden frame phase when it caught on fire this morning. The intense heat from the flames blew out some of the windows of the adjacent apartment buildings which were occupied. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
